SYB training program is back to the country

20090506_sybThe Start-Your-Business or SYB training program has been launched by the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Laos few years ago.  A number of trainers have been trained, who organized a considerable number of the Training of Entrepreneurs (TOE) nationwide.

Recently, the training program has been re-launched by the ILO WEDGE project with 2 Training of Trainers (TOT) in Oudomxay and Savannakhet provinces.  The TOT was organized by ILO WEDGE in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion and Development Office (SMEPDO) and provincial Department of Industry and Commerce (DoIC) for approximately 50 participants.  Two EDC senior trainers were also part of the trainer’s team.

The training aims at building up the capacity of the SMEPDO coordinators and Lao Women Union staff at the provinces in delivering this training program.  The training is highly significant in terms of promoting job creation and domestic investment in provinces, particularly in the time of the economic recession
